Position: Sales & Marketing Manager

Area: Hotel Administration and Management

Location: HQ in Athens, Greece

Description

The broad purpose of your role will be to facilitate, support and guide the marketing strategy of the Group while delivering an exceptional investment journey, which is the hallmark of Mercan Group.

You will be responsible for the strategic marketing development plans and driving all revenue streams in operations with an emphasis on Group, Corporate and Leisure Business, developing strategies to optimize revenues and will work with the Head Office Marketing Team.

As a successful candidate you ideally will have experience in hotel sales and marketing positions, be proficient in all aspects of hotel plans and looking for a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, strategize and drive all revenue streams in operations with an emphasis on the Group´s projects in Greece.
  • Corporate and Leisure Business, develop strategies to optimize revenues and work with the individual hotel management and the Head Office Marketing Team.
  • Coordinate marketing campaign activities, including developing campaign assets, maximizing content for digital channels, and generating PR coverage for campaigns.
  • Build and develop relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop group sales deployment strategies through competitive data review, demand analysis and mix management in conjunction with Head Office Revenue Manager.
  • Identify revenue gaps and proactively seek to drive revenue across our properties in Greece.
  • Actively seek out new promotional opportunities through events, showcases, online activity and social media as well as maintaining existing/return business.
  • Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions, trade shows and events both locally, nationally, and international when applicable.
  • Ensure hotel brands and corporate brands are developed in the market to position them as must-see venues for their target markets.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of all marketing materials and activities, ensuring alignment with brand standards and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate marketing strategies with other efforts across the company.

Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, your experience should include:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism or Equivalent experience (ie. candidate can prove skill set through job experience).
  • 3+ years in a similar managerial position.
  • A proven track record of delivering strategic multi-channeled marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to work as part of a close team but also individually when needed.
  • Great communication skills (both verbally and written) in Greek and English.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Commercial awareness and target driven mindset.
  • Experience working in the hotel or tourism sector (desirable).
  • Experience with CRM software and digital marketing tools.
  • A proactive, results-oriented approach and good planning skills.
